The Slyde kicks off their ‘10 Years And Counting Tour’ with a stop in Barrie Oct. 3. The tour celebrates a decade of releasing music including two albums and four EPS.

It is one of the band’s first Canadian dates since returning from their performance in Germany at the world’s largest outdoor metal festival Wacken Open Air. The four musicians performed at the festival after winning the 2019 Wacken Metal Battle Canada competition and being selected to represent their home country at the Wacken Metal Battle international final.

A live video from the festival of the track ‘So Blind’ can be seen on You Tube. It’s off their latest album ‘Awakening’, released last year.

The melodic prog rock came together in Ottawa in 2009 and later located to Toronto, where they are currently based.

The Slyde plays the The Foxx Lounge in downtown Barrie Oct. 3. The show is supported by a  couple of their friends,  A Couple Anancies and Chasing Shadows.
