The search is on for a pair of suspects who used a stolen identity to make a fraudulent purchase in Barrie.

The Barrie Police Service is asking for public assistance to help identify two males who committed a theft at the Canadian Tire located on Bayfield Street. The two completed an online application for a credit card, using information that belonged to someone else, and then used the new credit card to purchase an expensive vacuum cleaner.

Although the incident occurred back in May of 2017, investigators believe that someone may know the identity of the persons responsible.

Suspect No. 1 is a male mulatto with a thin athletic build, black hair and was wearing a black ball cap with black facial hair and a goatee. He had on a white T-shirt with two black stripes across the chest, a shoulder pouch and tight black track pants. He also had white ADIDAS court shoes with black stripes and was sporting black, rimmed glasses with gold on the arms, as well as a full sleeve tattoo on his right arm and a tattoo on the upper left.

Suspect No. 2 was a black male with an athletic build. He had short, spiked black hair that was short on the sides and long on the top to go along with a black goatee. He was wearing a black, green and white checkered short sleeve shirt with black jeans and black and white shoes with a white stripe.
