Barrie’s biggest live theatre night will be back May 8 when the annual Stars Come Out show is set to hit the stage again. The evening promises to be one packed with song, music and dance performed by stars of the most popular Toronto shows.
The stars of stage and screen will collaborate for one evening in support of the annual fundraiser for TBTB’s summer season. This years’ headliners have yet to be announced, but tickets are already selling for a line-up sure to be packed with variety.
Ian Maggoch, who was recently appointed Executive Director at TBTB is confident that their hard work in preparing for this years’ event will pay off.
“We work very hard to make sure that people have a most incredible evening possible at Stars Come Out. Not only in the show itself but every element that is catered to provide the best experience possible,” says Maggoch.
Maggoch, who studied acting at George Brown Theatre School, is astounded year after year by the incredible calibre and range of artists brought to the show.
“Whether it is Colm Wilkinson or the wonderful Louise Pitre who headlined last year, you just don’t get that quality of entertainment in one night anywhere else in Barrie,” adds Maggoch.
TBTB also make it their mandate to hire performers and technical staff, wherever possible, from the local area. They consistently strive to increase job opportunities in the region, generate support for the arts by businesses and individuals locally and across the province and promote arts education.
This paired with the high calibre theatrical productions delivered will increase the volume of visitors to Barrie and positively impact the region’s tourism and service industries.
The Stars Come Out event offers a VIP experience, a silent auction with a selection of diverse items, incredible live auction packages (trip in South Africa), and much more. Their overall goal for the evening is that attendees will leave saying ‘wow’.
So, whether you are going for a fun night at the theatre or to try your luck at the various raffles and auctions taking place; this evening is not designed to leave you disappointed.
