Later this year, Simcoe County will be treated to two performance by the Canadian Forces Snowbirds.

The acrobatic flying stunt team will be appearing at the Canadian Armed Forces Day and Airshow on June 2 and 3 at CFB Borden and again at the Wasaga Beach airshow on June 23 and 24.

The Snowbirds were in Simcoe County recently to make the announcement. Captain Robbie Hindle from Midland, a member of the Snowbird team, was on hand to help describe the show.

CFB Borden celebrates Canadian Armed Forces Day with a number of planned events and, along with the airshow, the camp will also feature displays and other activities geared towards families.

Known officially as the Canadian Forces 431 Air Demonstration Squadron but more widely known as the Snowbirds, the flying team is comprised of members of the Canadian army, navy and air force to demonstrate the skill, dedication and team work involved in the country’s military. They have been performing at air shows since 1978.
