A good dose of community support has helped the Royal Victoria Health Centre’s (RVH) Hearts and Minds campaign not only reach its goal, but surpass it.

“I’m incredibly thrilled to announce we have officially reached our $25 million dollar goal for the Hearts and Minds campaign,” said Dave McCullough, campaign chair. “We are actually over goal having raised more than $25.2 million dollars in support of the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Heart Program, the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Child and Youth Mental Health Program and so much more.”

The funds also go toward supporting women’s cancer services, teaching and research and new equipment.

Officially launched in May 2015, the campaign received support from across North Simcoe Muskoka with more than 9,100 families, businesses and service clubs contributing to the cause.

“I can’t tell you how proud I am to be a member of this community,” said Janice Skot, RVH president and CEO. “When our region comes together for an important cause it’s remarkable what we can accomplish.”
