Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) has once again received generous support for patient care from Barrie-based Canplas Industries Ltd., with a $50,000 donation raised over the last four years towards the Hearts and Minds Campaign from an employee-driven campaign. This brings total giving by Canplas and its employees to more than $160,000 over three decades of support.
“Canplas was founded in 1966 and moved to Barrie in 1983,we know the importance of supporting our community and ensuring our hospital can provide the services and care we need, closer to home,” says Ron Marsden, president, Canplas Industries Ltd. “Our employees drive the change and innovation that makes us a better company and we were thrilled to partner with them matching funds for RVH.”
RVH’s Hearts and Minds campaign has recently wrapped up raising $25.2 million for patient care. Most notably, the funds supported the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Child and Youth Mental Health Program and the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Heart Program providing services to youth in crisis and heart patients that previously were not available in North Simcoe Muskoka.
“Community support from local businesses like Canplas Industries Ltd. is key to RVH’s ability to provide safe, high-quality care for area residents,” says John Byles, chair, RVH Foundation. “Gifts like this further ensure our health centre will continue to deliver the very best care to residents of North Simcoe Muskoka.”
