After a nation-wide search, Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) recently announced Elizabeth (Liz) Ferguson as RVH’s Vice President Patient Programs, Flow & Chief Nursing Executive (CNE). She will join the organization in early January, 2020.
“We conducted a thorough and extensive search to fill this important role in our organization and with the assistance of members from our Patient Family Advisory Council and Board of Directors, we made the unanimous decision to welcome Liz to our team,” says Janice Skot, RVH president and CEO. “In her role, Liz will oversee patient programs including Emergency and Intensive Care, the Medicine program, as well as Professional Practice, Ethics, Patient Flow and Spiritual Care. As part of her responsibilities, she will also spearhead RVH’s role and participation in the Barrie-area Ontario Health Team. We are thrilled to have someone with Liz’s experience and passion for healthcare join our team.”
Ferguson will be joining RVH from the Sault Area Hospital where she has been the Vice President, Clinical Operations/CNE since May 2016. Prior to that, she had a lengthy career at the Hospital for Sick Children in various roles including Director, Clinical Programs, Centre for Brain & Mental Health, Tele-Mental Health, Trauma, Adolescent Medicine and Inpatient Surgical Specialties. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing from D’Youville College in Buffalo, New York and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Toronto. She has also contributed to many healthcare publications and oral presentations.

In addition to her proven track record of driving innovation and quality-based healthcare, she also has extensive experience in values-based healthcare and system transformation as chair of the regional clinical steering committee upgrading the Sault Area Hospital, West Parry Sound Hospital and North Bay Regional Hospitals shared Health Information System.
