Police need help in identifying female driver

Barrie Police is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a female driver who was involved in a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

At approximately 7:40 a.m. earlier this month on Monday, Mar. 4 a pedestrian was walking on Yonge Street approaching Big Bay Point Road in Barrie. The pedestrian was walking on the west side of the street across the merge lane in an attempt to cross the street.

While crossing within the merge lane, the pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was turning right onto Big Bay Point Road.

The vehicle description that was provided was an orange/red vehicle being operated by a female in her 40’s with curly brown hair and tanned skin. The female driver did make an effort to ask if the pedestrian was injured before leaving. Police are asking for the driver of the vehicle to contact police to help complete the investigation.
