Police asking for help in identifying shoplifter

Barrie Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a shoplifter who robbed a south-end Food Basics store this past weekend.

The female suspect entered the grocery store, located at 555 Essa Road, on Saturday, September 14 shortly after 1:30 p.m. and police determined she removed a quantity of over-the-counter non-prescription medication and ointments, and placed them in a large purse and left without paying for them.

Police identify the suspect as middle Eastern, in her 30s or 40s, and approximately five-foot-two with a slim build. She had on black-heel boots with a long ankle-length leopard print dress and was wearing a dark blue Hijab with glasses on her head.
