Dwayne Gretzky, a collective of Toronto musicians, returns to Barrie for an album release and  Halloween Party.

The self-titled debut album features reinterpreted covers of songs from The Cars, ABBA and more.

In the months leading up to the album, Dwayne Gretzky has shared a series of A-side/B-side digital singles that pay homage to the lost art form of flipping a 45rpm record. With this sentiment in mind, each A-side single is complemented with a B-side of contrasting sound, allowing listeners to uncover the diversity of the project as a whole.

Whether reinterpreting a classic in their latest recordings or playing one note-for-note at a live show, Dwayne Gretzky continues to shatter conventions and bring people together in a celebration of the well-loved but largely forgotten songs.

Since the band’s inception in 2011, Dwayne Gretzky has garnered fans everywhere they go for their live shows. The band, which can feature up to 10 different musicians, has been called, Canada’s Favourite Party Band.

Dwayne Gretzky plays Mavricks Music Hall, 46 Dunlop St. W., on Saturday, Oct. 26. Tickets to the 19+ event are $25. Visit www.mavricksbarrie.ca for more information.
