The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has opened a satellite office in Midland to coincide with the new law enforcement direction the town has taken.

Located at 250 Second St., the building formerly housed the town’s own police service, but closed down for renovations once the OPP took over policing duties in Midland earlier this year. The office will be used for law enforcement and investigative purposes as well as for the Marine Unit serving Georgian Bay.

Part of the Southern Georgian Bay detachment, the office will house OPP staff along with the return of civilian and uniform members of the former Midland Police Service who have since joined the provincial police force.

Satellite office hours are Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is 705-526-6558 for non-emergency calls.
