New Tecumseth Memorial 5K Run supports hospital foundation

This Run’s For You recently presented a cheque for $15,368 to the Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation raised from the 2nd Annual New Tecumseth Memorial 5 KM run/walk.

The event was well attended from the community to help support the hospital with critical equipment needs, including vital signs monitors, infusion pumps and patient beds.

“We had another successful event and I couldn’t be more proud,” race director Kara Harris said. “I look forward to continuing to grow the event and making it more family-friendly. Ultimately we want community members of all ages to feel like they can participate in this fun event for a great cause.”

The next run scheduled for September 27, 2020, will have a new component, allowing children to register and participate in the event as well.

“The dedication and commitment from this team of volunteers does not go unnoticed. We are truly grateful to them for bringing a new fundraising event to our community that will continue to grow and benefit our Hospital. Through the support of volunteers, donors, sponsors, and community groups much needed funds were raised for Stevenson,” commented Tanya Wall, executive director of Stevenson Memorial Hospital Foundation.

This Run’s For You is a local volunteer-based organization that has donated $58,000 to local charities and families in need.
