Music at St. Andrew’s features organist Stefani Bedin. New to the Wednesday music series, Bedin has given concerts at the ORGANIX festival concert series and performed Toronto’s Yorkminster Park Baptist Church, Metropolitan United Church and the University of Toronto’s Walter Hall.
Bedin won first-prize in 2018 edition of the Osborne Organ Competition at Canada’s Summer Institute of Church Music. She is a solo and collaborative performer, liturgical musician, and teacher.
Currently completing a Master of Music degree in organ, she is also the assistant organist at St. Basil’s Catholic Parish, the collegiate church of the University of St. Michael’s College, a position she has held since July 2017. The Toronto native plays for multiple services each week and directs the St. Basil’s Singers,
Bedin will be bringing a program of Bach, Buxtehude, and Brahms to Barrie. The one-hour concert takes place on Aug. 21 at 12 noon at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 47 Owen St., Barrie. Admission is $10 for adults, free for students. For more information call 705-726-1181.
