The Matthews House Hospice Gala, An Evening in Paris, recently delivered a fun night for close to 500 guests and raised more than $230,000. A highlight of the evening was the donation of two flights to Paris that, alone, raised more than $7,000.
The services provided by Matthews House are a community-driven initiative, supported by local donors, municipalities and volunteers. Because there is no cost for hospice services, Matthews House continues to rely on donations from individuals, businesses and organizations in South Simcoe as well as the proceeds of fundraising events like the gala, to provide community and visiting hospice programs.
In 2017, the hospice programs served more than 1,700 individuals.
Matthews House is also looking for events or program and services volunteers.
