One down, one to go. Madison Mueller, a 19 year old singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Barrie, won the “International Rising Star of the Year” Award at the ISSA (International Singer Songwriter Association) Awards in Atlanta. She also asked to perform at the after-party.
“It was amazing and the Red Carpet interviews were really fun,” said Mueller, who was also nominated in the Single of the Year category for her song Exhale.
The Barrie artist has also been nominated for three Josie Music Awards including Pop/Contemporary Vocalist of the Year and Rising Star of the Year. Mueller currently holds the title of “Young Adult Female Artist of the Year” from the 2018 JMA awards.
Meanwhile she can be seen busking in Barrie, Innisfil and Penetanguishene this summer. It is part of a program through the OMCI (Ontario Musician Co-Operative Inc.).
When she isn’t writing songs and performing, Mueller teaches piano and voice at the Spaulding School of Music.
She is slated to perform at the Innisfil Recreation Complex Aug. 22 and at O’Hara’s Public House on Sept. 7.
