Canadian star Louise Pitre will be performing an intimate concert/show in Collingwood next week. It will feature highlights from her musical career portraying the legendary Edith Piaf to the starring role in Mamma Mia, a role that took her from Toronto to her debut on Broadway where she received a Tony nomination.
That was a highlight for Pitre. She is also well-known for playing Fantine in Les Misérables (Toronto, Montreal, and Paris), among other title roles.
She also created a one-woman show called On The Rocks in 2013. It premiered with original songs at Theatre Passe Muraille in Toronto.
She is the winner of multiple awards including a New York Theatre World Award, a San Francisco Theatre Critics’ Award, and four Dora Mavor Moore awards.
Pitre performs from June 19-22 at First Presbyterian Church, Collingwood. The show is part of Theatre Collingwood’s summer season. For tickets contact the box office at 705-445-2200.
