HGR Graham, a local law firm operating throughout Simcoe County, is continuing its long-standing support of the County’s Long Term Care (LTC) and Seniors Services Department through its generous contribution to the Give a Lift campaign to fund new resident buses at four facilities.
The Give a Lift campaign was launched at each of the County-run facilities in early 2019. In total, the County of Simcoe aims to raise $450,000 to purchase four accessible buses that will service LTC facilities in Beeton, Penetanguishene, Collingwood and Orillia.
Public donations will go towards replacing buses from 2006, which provide around 20 outings at each facility every month for LTC residents and help seniors maintain connections with their local communities. HGR Graham is contributing $5,000 to the purchase of a new resident bus for Georgian Village in Penetanguishene. The County is grateful to many local donors that support our fundraising efforts, including HGR Graham which has donated more than $25,000 over the last five years to various LTC and Seniors Services initiatives.
So far, Georgian Village has raised $21,500 towards the cost of a new accessible vehicle through a variety of fundraisers, including cook-offs, a Classic Car show, and cookbook and craft sales. Donations to each of the four County-operated facilities can be made in-person or online at simcoe.ca/givealift.
