Shaun Majumder returns to Barrie this month for a show at Georgian Theatre Barrie. It was inspired by the comedian ’s departure from This Hour Has 22 Minutes. He was a longtime co-host of the CBC show and is a favourite of the internationally renowned Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. He has also starred in his own TV show, Majumder Manor.
Majumder has played Barrie several times in the past as a part of Talk is Free Theatre’s International Comedy Festival.
“I love playing Barrie – it’s just so much fun up there,” said Majumder who will be adding to the fun with any number of different topics that are “all over the map – you never know what you’re going to get on the day.”
Majumder splits his time between Los Angeles, where he has lived since 2001, and his hometown, Burlington, Newfoundland where he started a summer festival, with music, comedy, and food, called The Gathering.
While the Gemini Award-winning actor/comedian is known for live shows, films, hosting Just for Laughs Comedy festival TV series, among other television work, he has also created his own projects as a writer and producer, including writing a script with his wife, Shelby Fenner, an American actor.
