Celebrate Barrie is looking to showcase you.
The City of Barrie, which puts on the 19th annual event taking place on Saturday, June 1 at Centennial Park, is searching for community groups, businesses and performers from Barrie and the surrounding area that are offering unique experiences, doing things differently and helping to create an exciting, inclusive and dynamic city.
Celebrate Barrie is an opportunity for local performers to showcase their talent and entertain thousands of residents and visitors who attend the event. All performers are invited to submit, including bands, individual musicians, dance groups, choirs, theatre companies and more.
For community groups and local not-for-profit organizations, Celebrate Barrie provides an opportunity to connect with the community in a fun environment and to create awareness for the programs and support they provide. Groups must provide a free, unique and engaging activity to be eligible to participate.
Special consideration will be given to organizations offering new experiences and those providing activities for people of all ages and abilities, students and visitors to the local community.
The City of Barrie is also searching for local businesses, innovators and food vendors to take part in this year’s event.
Those community groups and businesses interested in being considered for Celebrate Barrie are encouraged to attend a free Community Engagement Workshop on Friday, Mar. 22. Fore more information or to register for the workshop, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Creativity Economy Department will accept submissions from groups, businesses and performers until Friday, Apr. 5 at 4:30 p.m.
More than 10,000 residents and visitors attended last year’s event. For complete details on how you can join the celebration, visit www.barrie.ca/CelebrateBarrie.
