Celebrate International Women’s Day with laughter. Theatre Collingwood is presenting Girls Nite Out show on March 8.

It’s an all-female, all funny, mix of stand-up and improv comedy that stars  Elvira Kurt (The Debaters, Baroness Von Sketch & so much more!),  Jennine Profeta (The Second City Theatricals, “Howie Do It” w/Howie Mandel), Diana Frances (Just for Laughs, Corner Gas: The Animated Series) and Karen Parker (The Second City).

They are a mix of Canadian Comedy Award Winners, CBC darlings and Second City alumni. Elvira Kurt leads the fun-filled evening. She is Canadian Comedy Award-winning, Cannes Film Festival award-winning (Real Women Seen) comedian whose sold-out solo shows include Funny AF, Fearless, Homosexual Panic, Fired Up. She is also a CSA nominated stand-up comic and Second City veteran.

Jennine Profeta is a performer, writer, corporate workshop facilitator, and MC/host. She’s appeared in numerous commercials and summer theatre productions and was a principal player in Howie Mandel’s “Howie Do It” for NBC. She’s thrilled to be back with her sister act, Girls Nite Out, which currently marks its12th anniversary.

Diana Frances is an award-winning improviser and comedy writer who has been nominated for eight Canadian Comedy Awards for ‘Best Female Improviser’ and has entertained Canadian troops in Bosnia, Egypt, Israel and Afghanistan.

Karen Parker is a three-time Canadian Comedy Award-winning/Dora nominated actor and an alumnae of the Second City Toronto Mainstage. She has numerous film and television credits and is an acting and improv instructor at the Second City Training Centre and Making Box Theatre. AS part of the Lusty Mannequins, she recently won Best of the Fest award at the Toronto Sketch Festival.
