To the artist, art can be personal. It’s an expression of one’s thoughts and emotions; an extension of one’s personality and a way to share their experiences.
You can share in the experiences of local artists and maybe find that special artwork to add to your home or office at this year’s Barrie Spring Art Tour. Opening night of the popular tour, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary, is on April 27, from 7-9 p.m., at the Edge Gallery located at 36 Dunlop St. W. in Barrie.
The self-guided tour, which runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 28-29, allows art lovers to visit 13 studios and galleries of local artists living and creating in Barrie and the surrounding area.
Barrie stops on the tour include the Barrie Art Club, The Creative Space, Yvette Miller, Drawing House, PRNT Collective, Veni Vidi, Shaaron Hayman and Sherryl Hopper. Midhurst stops feature artists Dan Werstuk and Mary Lynne Atkinson, with Brenda Sharpe in Springwater and Arlene Hancock in Angus.
