Midland’s Feast Fest is a popular event. The inaugural festival, held last year, drew more than 70,000 people to become the town’s largest full-weekend event.

This year Feast Fest features a wide variety of different activities, from food to beverages and treats, including vendors. In addition, there’s a kids-zone, midway, arts and craft exhibitors, daily activation activities, beverage sampling and all-day entertainment from local artists, tribute acts and evening headliner concerts.

Evening headliner concerts feature Friday night country headliner Tebey and Saturday night classic-rock icons Chilliwack.

Tebey was 16 years old when he got his first record deal but it was a rocky start. Since then, he’s written songs for numerous stars from pop to country (FLO RIDA, Doc Walker, One Direction and British pop star Pixie Lott, who had a 2012 hit with All About Tonight and Emerson Drive. The Peterborough-born songwriter has also had a few of his own, including his hit single hit single Wake Me.

Founded in Vancouver, in 1969, Chilliwack released 12 albums over a 15-year period producing numerous Canadian and international hits from Lonesome Mary to Whatcha Gonna Do. With fifteen gold and platinum certifications, and a host of awards, the group continues to play live at outdoor gatherings and festivals.

Admission to the food and licensed entertainment grounds is only two dollars, before 8 p.m., free for children age 12 and under. After 8 p.m. it’s five dollars for evening headliner concerts, ages 19 and older. An optional VIP reserved seating upgrade for evening concerts is also available on the festival’s website.

Feast Fest supports the local food bank through select charitable programming, with 100 per cent of net proceeds going to the local food bank.
