Bradford West Gwillimbury residents are expected to be out in full force on April 21 for the town’s annual Community Clean-up Day.
Coinciding with International Earth Day (April 22), the event has become a tradition for the town as residents are eager to shake off the winter weather and enjoy a spring day, all the while helping to beautify the community. Participants are asked to meet at 9 a.m. at the Bradford District Memorial Community Centre at 125 Simcoe Rd. From there they will be broken into different groups and bused to designated clean-up areas throughout the community. At the end of the clean-up, participants will be taken back to the community centre for a thank-you lunch.
“This is a great opportunity for the community to come together to help make our town beautiful,” says Mike O’Hare, parks and property manager. “Students looking to fulfill their community service hours for high school graduation purposes are welcome to participate and can have their credit forms signed at the end of the event.”
Pre-registration is not required, but participants should wear comfortable footwear and dress for the weather. Reflective vests and gloves will be provided.
