Theatre by the Bay marks a new summer season with a family oriented original play in both French and English.

Caribou Cave / Caverne des Caribous is a passion project of show creators Alex Dault and Chloe Payne who worked with Andrew Young and Michelle Urbano to bring the story to life.

“The story about two cave people is a live performance with shadow puppetry,” said artistic director Iain Moggach. “It’s a fun family adventure.”

It centers on Sabaz and Nimrock who set out on a journey to explore the mysterious Cave of the Caribou. They want to save their clan and along the way they all sorts of different characters.

Dault and Payne, who are married in real life, have a long history with TBTB. Dault started out as a young actor, served as artistic director for several years, and has written many original plays for TBTB. Payne has been involved with TBTB in the past as an actor including last season’s Northern Lights. Dault, Payne and Andrew Young are all appearing in the show.

The show runs from July 18- 28 at the Five Points Theatre. Choose from an English performance or a French show and specify when purchasing tickets. Showtimes vary.  Tickets are $13 each, available through www.theatrebythebay.com.
