Like a choir of angels on a snowy day, the ladies of Boreal are descending upon Barrie.
The acclaimed folk super trio of Tannis Slimmon, Jude Vadala and Katherine Wheatley, who have joined forces to sing winter-themed songs and holiday classics, will be performing in concert at the MacLaren Art Centre on Nov. 29.
The trio, which performed their first show 10 years ago, have come together each November and December since to tour through community halls and concert series across Ontario. With a strong rapport among themselves and the audience, the ladies of Boreal will perform songs off their Winter’s Welcome debut CD.
Slimmon, Vadala and Wheatley play a variety of instruments, including guitars, mandolin, banjo, bass, keyboards and percussion, while bringing variety, atmosphere and originality to their music to help put you in the mood for the holiday season.
Concertgoers will also have the opportunity to sample gourmet oils and balsamics from Barrie Olive Oil Co, with a selection of the popular items available for sale.
The show begins at 7:30 p.m. at the MacLaren Art Centre, located at 37 Mulcaster St. Advance tickets are $25 each. Visit barriefolk.com or call 705-721-9696.
