Getting a win won’t be the only focus the Barrie Bombers team will have when the take on the Wilmont Wild’s on Mother’s Day on May 12.

The Jr. C lacrosse team will also battle the Wild in the Pink the Rink fundraising challenge, with each team competing to raise money for the cancer centre of their choice. Leading up to the game, the Bombers will be rallying the support of the local community to raise money to benefit the RVH Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre.

The RVH Cancer Centre is located in Barrie, but also includes two satellite chemotherapy sites, one at the Muskoka Algonquin Health Centre in Huntsville and the other at Orillia’s Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital.

The centre provides almost all forms of cancer treatments with the exception of pediatrics and head/neck malignancies. The most common cancers in the clinic include breast, prostate, lung and gastrointestinal.

You can donate to a great cause and help the Bombers win their challenge by visiting their website at www.bombersjrclacrosse.com and donating.
