The 11th annual BarrieLicious food festival runs from Jan. 19 until Feb. 4th. And you’re already out of luck for tickets, it’s officially sold out.
Festival directors, Randy Feltis and Ryan Traversy created the event to highlight local restaurants and the selection of food they serve. It has grown exponentially, to include venues within Barrie and beyond, to become a countywide food festival. Whether it’s The Farmhouse at Barrie, the Coop Public House and Foodiary at Alliston or Kenzington Burger Bar at Bradford, BarrieLicious has you covered.
The event is modelled after Toronto’s Winterlicious Festival, Traversy’s former hometown, and has expanded its roster from 16 participating restaurants in 2008 to 57 in this year. Restaurant owners are lining up to register for the 17-day event and offering great deals to attract attendees. It’s an opportunity for locals to try new foods and expand their palettes, with opportunities to sample an array of multicultural foods. Sponsors include Coca-Cola, Sysco, Downtown Barrie, Big 101.1, Fresh Radio 93.1, Peller Estates Winery and more.
