A 37-year-old Barrie man was charged by members of the Barrie Police Service Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit recently following an investigation into inappropriate online exchanges.
The investigation led to the execution of a warrant and the seizure of electronic devices for further forensic analysis.
The accused, who appeared in a Barrie Court of Justice on March 8, has been charged with luring a child, sending sexually explicit material to a child and invitation to sexual touching.
The Barrie Police Internet Child Exploitation Unit is a partner within Ontario’s “Provincial Strategy” to protect children from sexual abuse and exploitation on the internet. The project was made possible by a grant from the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.
