Americana musician joins Mariposa

Renowned Americana artist, Jason Isbell, joins the lineup for the Mariposa Folk Festival this summer.

Considered to be a master singer/songwriter, Isbell songs deal with hopes and fears of everyday people – blue-collar folk striving to escape the constraints of limited lives or accepting destiny.

The Alabama-born rock musician has risen to the top of the Americana music scene, garnering four Grammy Awards and nine Americana Music Awards over the past several years.

His latest album Live From The Ryman features Isbell and the 400 Unit band. He also had a song featured in the 2018 movie A Star is Born, starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga.

The three-day Mariposa Folk Festival features more than ten stages of the best folk-roots music on the North American scene, along with story, dance, and craft on more than 10 stages. Tent and RV camping available.

The Mariposa Folk Festival runs July 5-7, 2019, in Tudhope Park in Orillia, Ont., on the shores of scenic Lake Couchiching. All ticket categories are on sale. Children age12 & under are admitted free.  Visit for details.
