On June 9 just before 12:30pm, South Simcoe Police Service along with Simcoe County Paramedics and Innisfil Fire & Rescue were called to Sky Dive Toronto, located at Sideroad 10 and Line 4 of Innisfil for a plane crash.
Investigators learned that the small, single-engine aircraft was attempting a take off on the grass airfield at the skydiving facility when the pilot lost control. The aircraft skidded off the runway into a ditch.
Five people were aboard at the time, including the pilot. Two were treated by paramedics at the scene while two others were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The pilot was uninjured. They are expected to make a full recovery.
The weather at the time of the incident was fine, sunny with a light wind.
The Transportation Safety Board of Canada will be conducting an investigation, assisted by members of the South Simcoe Police Service.
