Labour Day weekend is here and that means a bunch of services will be affected by the holiday Monday in Barrie.

Barrie Transit will run on a regular Sunday service schedule on the holiday Monday. Visit www.barrie.ca/TransitNotices for more information.

There’ll be no need to put out your garbage, organics, recycling and yard waste on Monday in the city as they won’t be collected. This week, the city will do their curbside collection one day later. Materials must be curbside by 7 a.m. on your collection day. The city landfill will be closed regularly every Sunday and Monday. Learn more at www.barrie.ca/CurbsideCollection.

Inside activities will be limited as all of the city’s recreation facilities will be closed on the holiday, as will Barrie City Hall.

No need to dive into your pockets for parking downtown (on-street and lots) as its free on all statutory holidays, though waterfront parking will be enforced as it is every day of the year. Residents must make certain to display their permits and visitors are required to pay $3 per hour with a daily maximum of $20. For more, see www.barrie.ca/Parking.
