School is back on and it is time to celebrate. The Robbert Hartog Midland Campus celebrated Georgian College’s 50

The Robbert Hartog Midland Campus celebrated Georgian College’s 50th anniversary on September 12. Students and staff enjoyed live music, cupcakes, a photo booth and submitted words of wisdom to go in Georgian’s time capsule, to be locked and opened at the college’s 75th anniversary.

For its Fab 50 Challenge, the campus teamed up with local partners Canadian Tire and Giant Tiger to donate 50 emergency blankets, 50 pairs of socks, 50 water bottles and $250 to The Guesthouse Shelter. To raise the money, students took part in a raffle for three tool kits. The campus chose the Guesthouse as its charity of choice because it has provided shelter to students in the past and offers work placements for students.

The other campuses held similar celebrations throughout September.

Anyone interested in supporting the students’ success can mark their calendars for November 10 and plan on attending the Georgian Golden Gala black tie fundraiser. The event takes place and Casino Raman and all proceeds will support student awards and scholarships.
