The Barrie Ball Hockey Club is hosting a 3-on-3 tournament August 23‐25 in support of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH).
The NICU assisted 254 of the 2,080 infants born at RVH in 2018, including 60 sets of twins. About
15 per cent of all babies born require assistance after birth. “Presently the NICU is a very
constricted space and we want to help them expand,” says Brian Broley, president and CEO Barrie
Ball Hockey. “100 per cent of the funds raised as an entry fee to the tournament will be donated to
RVH to assist with funding for the purchase of specialized medical equipment.”

The weekend will include a corporate focused event on Friday afternoon, some celebrations
and fun celebrity games Friday night and a full weekend of events and social celebration of the 25
years Barrie Ball Hockey has been operating. The club will also host a skills competitions, dunk
tanks and lots of other fun activities. The 3-on-3 tournament will have many divisions and an
evening party to celebrate the 25th anniversary which will take place on August 24.
